Looks like what is on the pot in my one betta tank. I don't know why I never noticed it before 2 days ago. But I think it's actually kind of pretty growing like that. I wish the java moss would grow so uniformly .

Definitely not a club we join willingly! As you are balancing your ferts and planning on starting injected CO2 I wouldn't be too worried about it. You can attempt to remove what you can so it doesn't get out of control. Once your tank is well balanced the algae will start to die out.

It looks like a type of hair algae. But it is also entwined with some moss so hard to say.

I was thinking Hair Algae as well, but I have never seen it as "brown" only green though.

It dose look like some sort of hair algae. Either way it's unwanted algae.

Getting your tank balanced out with light, co2 and fertilizers will help a lot.

Now it seems I got BBA growing on my driftwood. Can't wait until I install my CO2 system.

When you dose your Excel, turn off the current and dose in the area of the BBA. That is something you don't want to ignore.
