  • CO2 Diffuser clogs up

I have a CO2 Diffuser that clogs up and I have to perform weekly maintenance on it or my CO2 mist becomes into a trickle. I soak it in vinegar for about an hour and then connect it back to my system and works perfectly fine until the end of the week.

I'm thinking because I have hard water that it clogs...thoughts?

The product I bought: Atomic+ CO2 Diffuser 75mm from GLA

From what I have read in the past, it is fairly common for the atomic diffusors to clog up faster because of the smaller pores. It is possible that hard water would accelerate the clogging. Have you tried soaking it over night to get it cleaner, or tried a stronger solution, to see if it can last longer? Vinegar is a fairly weak acid. I had to look, but it seems soaking overnight in a 50:50 mix of bleach and water followed by a dechlorination bath is effective in cleaning them.

I would consider getting a second one and then soaking the heck out of the first one, possibly even under aeration.

I've got the 60mm and I've never had clog issues. You need to soak it in a bleach solution. I do that once in awhile.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will try doing the bleach solution.
