  • Photoperiod in emmerse growing plants

Does anyone know if there is a limit in photoperiod for emmerse plants? If i kept the lights on for 16 hours would it help grow the plants faster? Or is there a limit?

I've found that plants grow best (under T5s) at about 6hrs when you have high ferts. Anything beyond 12hrs and I didn't notice a difference in growth, increase or decrease. Less than 6hrs and you have decrease in growth. I keep my photo-period at 9 hours because I don't add many ferts.

Both my DSM tank and emersed plants are on a 12 hour photoperiod under T8's with the ferts only coming from extras in the old tank water. I haven't noticed any problems with that, but it will probably be shortened when they move to T5HO's.
