  • Angels or Africans

I'm a little torn on what I should do. I'd like a little input. I've got a 55 gallon tank that I'm either going to put Angels or Africans in it. My pH is 8.4 and I've never done Africans before. But Angels are awesome! What do you guys think?

A pair? I'd do like 6 lol. Basically, I'd either order more Angels from Dena or get a bunch of Africans.

It all depends what you want them for really.

IMO, if you want to breed them and possibly make a little money from them, then angels would be a better choice.

If its just a tank that you want to look and and look really nice with lots of activity, then go for the Africans.

Ok, I already have 10 Angels. I'm really thinking Africans since I've got the perfect water for them.

If you really need to re-home I'll take them for just the cost of shipping

While it is very tempting to hear that you'd be interested in purchasing some of my angels, given the fact that you already have angels, I'd vote AFRICAN! Bet you never saw that one coming, huh?

An African tank is something I have always wanted to do. But I have very soft water and would have to fight it to maintain proper parameters for African fish. And, my 55G is now used as an Angelfish growout tank. Something I dream about....one day.....along with a discus tank.

After looking at the prices of Africans, I'm leaning more towards more Angelfish. Man African Cichlids are pricey!
