  • DD Black Angels Finally!

Since no one appears to have interest in the Blog System, I am copying my blog post here......

Received a shipment of DD Black Angels today. One was DOA, but the others are acclimating currently.

This blog will track the growth and development of these little guys.

    Pictures:

    Acclimating:

Will update once acclimation is done and fish are in the fry tank.

Couple of days in the tank and all is well. They still run for cover when I come into the room, but they are all very healthy in appearance. In fact these little guys ate an entire cube of frozen brine shrimp!!! I couldn't believe how much food they packed away when I first fed them.

Tonight's dinner choice was Spawn & Grow from Repashy. Obviously something new to them. My Blue Koi angels went right after it. Didn't even wait for it to hit bottom. That of course made the DDs curious. Funny watching their reactions.

It's been a couple of weeks, so thought I'd try to get some updated pictures. OMG, black angels are impossible to photograph!!!

Here's the best I have to offer on these quarter sized angels....

      Some with flash...

          Great looking angels Dena!

Be glad you were not foolish like me and put them in a tank with a painted black back lol

Very nice! What do you mean impossible to photograph? I thought I took quite a few very nice pictures of my DD blacks.

For me, impossible to get a good, clear shot. Those pictures were even with my daughter's camera.

They are definitely a group of piggies! The blacks are more aggressive, get most of the food, and are growing at twice the rate of those blue koi in the tank.

Just send me the smaller Angels and you won't have to worry about it.

Funny you ask. I have been posting pictures today...lol

I still have all 11 DD Blacks. They are growing very slowly! When they first arrived they dwarfed my Gold Marble/Blue fry; but now they are all about the same size.

Here is the best photo I can get of the black angels. I am going to keep trying over the weekend to see if I can get lucky. I am not the greatest photographer.

He is a real beauty. I have a hard time taking pictures of my black ones too. The background in that tank is black and sometimes I even have a problem finding them in there.

I have the exact same problem Lori! Sometimes I think they like to play games with me cause they will all go and sit right along the back of the tank. They are practically invisible.
