  • Shipping shrimp

They aren't ready yet but my blue jellies are proving to be bunnies lol... Anyways I am planning to sell them maybe in may sometime but I have never shipped anything but snails before... Is there any special way to ship shrimp that's different from snails?

Not too much. Clean water for the trip, something to hang onto (I throw in some plant....there's always something I can clip), and a heating pack depending on weather. I use breather bags, but I got them with my heat pks, so it wasn't too costly. A tradition fish bag with oxygen added can work too.

You can use poly bags as well since shrimp aren't that oxygen demanding. Just make sure you have mostly air. The ratio air:water is usually 2:1 in poly bags. As Heather said, you need a plant for them to hang on to. I'd do a light dose of prime or toss in some purigen if you've got it.

It helps remove impurities in the water.

I use 2 inch wide poly bags. They fit nicely into a flat rate box. I do not add Prime directly to the bag as it detoxes by binding oxygen and even 1 drop is an overdose. I also add a plant for them to gold on to.

            Everyone probably ships differently.

Would these blue's and RCS be a problem cohabitating?

They would mix breed and produce the "wild" type coloring... (A brown) but then one could breed the darkest of the wilds and breed.out a chocolate or black that's my plan...

Yes, you can't keep different color varieties of neos together, otherwise the offspring is the wild-type color - a lovely shade of brown

Nope, you can't mix the two. Both are Neocaridina and will cross breed which will produce... less attractive offspring .

Sean, I want some when my emersed tank is ready!
