  • Thoughts on Mystery Snails outside

Just wondering if anyone have put Mystery snails in their ponds? Not sure if it is the smartest thing to do since I read that Mysteries like to go exploring out of their tank, but I would like to try if it is safe and once mine grows a bit bigger.

I too would be worried that they would try and escape.

Be aware that they are listed as invasive animals in some states.

I don't have any body of water near me unless you count the Pacific Ocean

Well, they can be crafty, so watch out!

I thought about doing it last summer, but our temps were soaring into the 100s and didn't want to chance it. We just have too large of temp swings around here for it to be safe. I would think as long as you keep the water level down so they can have a place to lay eggs without crawling all the way out of your container you're using then it shouldn't be a problem.
