It's a toss up on many. I believe most can't survive without a host longer than a few days. Some like Nematodes can survive up to two weeks without a host.
Most bacteria thou need certain conditions to survive in not just the host. Typical airborne bacteria can live on many surfaces but ones that require hosts that are always submerged I would think would require different conditions than those found in the terestrial environment.
