Craft stores usually carry stuff like that.

I'd say the floral part of a large craft store.

I believe it means "pores per inch."

I've been wanting some foamy spongey stuff to use as filter media. I want to get rid of all the "cartridge"-type pieces (from old HOBs, using a canister now) and replace with more durable stuff, since the cartridge material falls apart. I'll be interested to see what people turn up. I know there's stuff at hardware stores, but I wouldn't know if it would be safe to use in an aquarium.

I use grout sponges from Lowe's for a lot of my filter media. They're inexpensive and I cut them up to fit whatever I want to use them in.

Hey Anthony, the foam we used was from Lowes or Home Depot and it came from the building section. It's bascally a dense styrofoam used for insulation. Don't know if it would work for your application
