I found an article earlier on keeping these when the forum was down. They apparently are like S.A. cichilds in that they don't get along very well together, do better in cooler temps depending on what species and can be actually purchased from hatcheries. The biggest issue in keeping these is making sure it's not against your state laws.

I would not go with anything less than 100 gallons.

I would think a big tank for them. They can also be classified as an invasive species so just a fair warning.

5-7, I would also suggest painting the sides and back. These are very skittish fish and tend to panic easily.
