  • Book Review: The Dawn of the Deed by John A. Long

I figured this would be of interest to those of a more scientific bent on here.

This book is about how reproduction affects biology.
A great deal of the book is about prehistoric fish and their fossils, both subjects that interest me.
A lot of the book is about the discovery and what was learned from the oldest know fossil with a embryo inside it. Known as "the mother fish", this 380 million year old fossil is the oldest know fossil that exhibits internal fertilization, versus the laying of eggs.
Even loaded with science, this is a fairly fast read and for those interested in fish of the past, well worth your time and effort.
The old that is strong, does not wither.
