I have tanks in my barn! Which is basically a garage but not attached to the house.

My garage is barely large enough to hold my car! Besides, the floor is far too unlevel to even consider setting up a tank.

So it is doable? The concern I had that the temps drop to the low 40s. I just thought the heaters in the tank would be working overdrive

Yeah, it is doable. You may need to double the heaters to have enough power to raise the temps sufficiently. But it could be done.

Nice. We just put a bid in a house which has space for a custom 10ft long tank in the garage.

Check level really well, most garages are sloped outward so you can hose/blow it out and to keep rain from coming in when the doors open.

Yeah, definitely have multiple heaters. I have mine outside and had it drop below freezing. Fish were fine though.

Yes, definitely check leveling. Tank stands don't do well with unlevel areas. I've had more than one collapse that way.

Thats why I'm here AP You can always have a good contractor level a portion of the floor with high strength concrete patch or something.

My bedroom is a garage! =D I've kept tanks from 1 1/2 to 29 gallons with no issues, as well as my Mali Uromastyx (a reptile, for you non-herp type people ).

Just a few. Most are actually down at the moment, have some bigger plans for the next 2 months.

Cars schmars, clearly the garage was intened for mass amounts of fish.

ok, now THAT is a nice way to have a fish/workout room!

Id do the same by my garage is too far from the house and has no power so makes it a bit rough to do.

Won't the temperature fluctuate too much?
