  • 75g Journal

I've finally been able to clear all the tilapia out of my 75g. So here's an updated picture . I'll keep updating as the weeks/months go by. This tank has a powerhead and a canister filter on it along with two heaters and a bubbler. I'm trying to fix a light for it. Right now I'm using a light that is a foot too short lol.

        What happened to the Tilapia?

Indeed it is. They rather like it. I imagine it is a lot nicer than the 30g hex they grew up in.

Yeah it is getting fuzzy Matt. No plecos in this tank to clean it off lol. Surprising since that wood has been clean and in a tank for nearly two years.

The Tilapia were finally moved to their larger grow out CJ. They were WAY too big for that tank. I had nearly 500 3"-5" fish in that tank.

I took the picture BEFORE I released the Oscars so they couldn't mess up the picture LOL.

I told you I liked to overstock tanks Jim lol.

I always thought you need 125g for a minimum of two adult Oscars

This tank is in the barn so the glass is allowed to b dirty!

That could be argued CJ. First it was a 55g. Then it was a 75g. Then it was a 90g. Now people are jumping up and down about it being a 150g. Personally I think a well filtered and well maintained 75g works for them. I've kept breeders in 55gs before without issues. They were custom made to be wider though. The width is really important with large fish like oscars.

just asking. I've never had an Oscar before, always thought they were to big. I like em smaller. Breed dwarf Oscars instead.
