Re: Adventures in Parent Raising Angelfish

I need to get an updated video; not sure if they are big enough to get clear pictures. They are now 2 months old, maybe 9 weeks. I am having a hard time keeping track with all the OT I've been working.

I wish it did, but I am on salary. It don't matter if I work 10 hours or 100 hours a week. No change in pay. But if the company does well I am now bonus eligible. Friday night I worked until 7 PM and had to be back to work at 6 AM Saturday morning. Left work at 11 AM to take Lucky, my old dog, to the vet for a thyroid blood test and to pick up prednisone as she is experiencing allergy issues. Got home around 2 PM. Crashed! Here it is Sunday night and I have yet to do my water changes. And I am running out of time. I've got to get them done as some tanks have been 2 weeks; and it has been 5 days in the fry tank.

Those little buggers are closing in on M&M size for the larger ones. The smallest ones are still pea sized. I know I should separate them but have no place to move angels this small!! They'd be attacked, killed or eaten.

One thing I am noticing is that many have very long fins. As I've only owned 1 veiltail I have no idea if that's what I have or not. The dorsals are so long that they reach well past the end of what appears to be a standard tail.

Thank you for the update! Sounds like you've got your hands very full. I'd love to see some of these long finned babies

I will do my best. I think the larger ones can be photographed...finally!

Well, most of the pictures turned out too blurry. But here are a few of the better images I was able to get (those little devils move so fast it is hard to get a decent shot!)

I took a video as well tonight. I will upload it in the morning and post once available.

Funny, I thought they weren't growing as I have been slacking on water changes and reduced feeding to keep the tank is decent shape. And when I compared these pictures with those I took just a couple of weeks ago  I couldn't believe my eyes!

I think there are around 85. I transferred 90 to this tank when I separated them from the parents. And have found a couple dead. Three I believe. So, there should be 87. But I may have lost count. Not like I can tell them to line up for a head count
